Look Whooo's Graduating!

I know school just started and graduation parties have come to an end, but today I'm sharing a card that I made last year for my mom to give to someone she knew who was graduating. I absolutely LOVE punch art projects and was super excited at how cute this little guy turned out!

The eyes and belly were made from various sizes of circle punches, the body and wings were made from the scalloped circle punch, the feet were the horizontal slot punch, the head was the tab punch (I can't remember it's official Stampin' Up name) and the hat was made from the curly label punch with a thin rectangle on top. I free hand cut the nose. The diploma was made by rolling up a small rectangle of cardstock and tying it off with some shiny string.

You could use this punch art owl for many different occasions: put a birthday hat on him or a balloon in his hand, have him sitting next to a pumpkin, or dress him up like Santa...the possibilities are endless!

Wedding Gift Card Holder

Hi All! Today's post is for a simple gift card holder. It is super easy to make although it took me three tries because I'm terrible at stamping straight...especially when I'm stamping directly onto the cardbase. I really need to invest in a stamp-a-majig! haha It is a tad smaller than it looks in the picture. The end measurements are around 4 x 2 3/4. It sort of floats around in the envelope, so I might make a coordinating card for it to go inside? We'll see. It's also hard to tell from the picture that there is Crystal Effects on the Champagne and bubbles. It looks so cute in person :) Also, don't mind my Costco Membership card on the inside. I wanted to show what it looked like with a gift card and sadly I didn't have any.

Stamps: To Have and to Hold, Congrats

Paper: Basic Gray, Basic Black, Whisper White

Ink: Basic Black, Basic Gray

Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, 1 3/8 and 1 1/2 Circle Punch, Slit Punch, Creamy Caramel SU Marker, Blender Pen, Crystal Effects, Organza Ribbon

1. Score 4 x 6 1/2 piece of Basic Gray at 1 3/8 and 4. Fold on score lines.

2. Stamp sentiment in bottom left corner.

3. Use the Eyelet Punch on a piece of 4 x 3 of Whisper White and then trim to fit into the inside of the top flap. Adhere.

4. Stamp the champagne glasses and color with Creamy Caramel SU Marker. Use the Basic Gray ink pad and blender pen to create a slight shadow on the glasses. Apply Crystal Effects to colored area and let dry.

5. Punch out image with 1 3/8 circle punch. Punch out Basic Black circle with 1 1/2 circle punch. Adhere.

6. To create the band, cut an 8 inch piece of organza ribbon. Wrap around entire card and adhere with the Whisper White Circle. Punch another Basic Black circle and adhere so that the ribbon is sandwiched between the circles.

7. Punch two slits in the center panel about 1/4 inch in on either side for gift card. 

Simple Anniversary Card

This is a very simple card, with minimal stamping, that I made for someone who needed an anniversary card. When I first started making cards, there was a flower on EVERYTHING! Ever since I started stamping though, my flowers disappeared. I had some leftover ones from a set I bought at Michael's and decided to give a stab at dying the flower to match the Baja Breeze in the DSP. Super easy! I might have to buy the Pretties Kit with my next order now! :)

Stamps: Congrats

Paper: Natural Ivory, Chocolate Chip, Parisian Breeze Designer Series Paper

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze

Accessories: Eyelet Punch, Chocolate Chip Ribbon, Sponge Dauber, Flowers, Brad, Mat Pack, Paper Piercer

1. Score 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of Natural Ivory at 4 1/4 and fold on score line.

2. Cut DSP to 1 1/2 x 5 1/2. Cut Chocolate Chip to 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 and punch the Eyelet Border along the bottom. 

3. Use your mat pack and paper piercer to pop in a line across the top of the DSP (not really visible in the picture). Layer DSP onto Chocolate Chip.

4. Stamp sentiment in bottom left hand corner using Chocolate Chip ink. Adhere to card base.

5. Use your mat pack and paper piercer in the top corners (5, 4, 3, 2, 1).

6. Attach ribbon to card base slightly above DSP. Use Sticky Strip to attach the knot of the ribbon to the card. 

7. Use a sponge dauber and Baja Breeze ink pad to dye the bigger of the white flowers. Attach flowers using a brad.

8. Attach the flower to the knot in the ribbon using Sticky Strip.

9. Stamp second part of sentiment inside using Chocolate Chip ink.

25th Wedding Anniversary

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you enjoyed time with your friends and family! Today was the first time since I joined Stampin' Up that I used non SU cardstock and ink, but since I needed silver accessories for a "silver anniversary" card and I had some left over paper and ink from Michael's laying around. The cool part about this card is that the ribbon that I used was actually white. Read below to find out how to dye your ribbon!

Stamps: Close as a Memory, Congrats

Paper: Silver, Basic Black, Whisper White Cardstock 

Ink: Silver Craft, Basic Black

Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Embossing Gun, Liquid Applique, Ribbon, Corner Rounder, Sponge Dauber

1. Score 4 1/4 x 11 piece of Silver cardstock at 5 1/2. Fold on score line. 

2. Stamp flower from Close as a Memory set using the Silver Craft Ink onto a 3 x 3 1/2 piece of Whisper White cardstock.

3. Emboss with clear embossing powder.

3. Stamp sentiment from Congrats set in Basic Black Ink in bottom right corner of Whisper White. 

4. Cut a 4 inch piece of white ribbon. Dip your sponge dauber in the Basic Black ink and pull ink over white ribbon using long strokes. Do both sides and set aside to dry.

5. Apply liquid applique around the edges of the flowers (it's hard to see in the picture, but it looks really nice in real life). Use heat tool to dry applique and it will puff up.

6. Take dried black ribbon and tie a small knot. Adhere around Whisper White.

7. Mat to a 3 1/4 x 3 3/4 piece of Basic Black cardstock and adhere to silver card base.

8. Stamp sentiment from Congrats set in lower right corner of the card base.

9. For the inside adhere a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Basic Black to card base. Use corner rounder to round corners of 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Whisper White and adhere to black.

Poppin' Pastels Card

This is another card that I will be demo-ing at Kim's party next Saturday. It was made using the Poppin' Pastels technique and my favorite stamp set, Flower Fancy. This set is considered "2-Step Stampin' because you stamp one image and then stamp the detail on top of it. I love that even if you don't match them up perfectly, they still look great!

Stamps: Flower Fancy, Congrats

Paper: Perfect Plum, Whisper White, Bashful Blue Cardstock 

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Versamark Ink

Accessories: Stampin' Pastels, Dimensionals

1. Score 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Perfect Plum cardstock at 4 1/4 and fold along score line.

2. On 4 1/4 x 3 piece of Whisper White, stamp base image from Flower Fancy several times using Versamark ink.

3. While the ink is still wet, use the Stampin' Pastels to color on top of the ink (I used Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery). This is the Poppin' Pastels technique

4. Stamp detail image on top of the base using Chocolate Chip ink.

5. Layer onto a 4 1/4 x 3 1/4 piece of Bashful Blue. Adhere to Perfect Plum card.

6. Stamp additional flower on scratch piece of Whisper White using the same technique. Cut out the flower and adhere on top of image using Stampin' Dimensionals.

7. Stamp sentiment from Congrats stamp set underneath image

Acetate Wedding Card

I decided to try this technique called "floating" using a piece of acetate as the base of the card. I think it turned out pretty cute...still not sure if I like the white ribbon on the side or not? If I had white Stazon I would have stamped some sort of swoopy or flower on the acetate, but I don't and anything else just smears. (I might have to add that to my next Stampin' Up order!)

Stamps: Fun and Fast Notes, Congrats

Paper: Whisper White, Cameo Coral Cardstock

Ink: Chocolate Chip Ink

Accessories: Acetate, Stampin' Pastels, Blender Pens, Ribbon

1. Cut and fold acetate to form a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 square card. 

2. Stamp wedding cake from Fun and Fast notes onto 2 x 2 piece of Whisper White. Color with Stampin' Pastels and blender pens.

3. Adhere to center of acetate. Adhere 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 piece of Cameo Coral to the inside of the front of the card, sandwiching the acetate between the two pieces. Stamp "welcome to the wedded bliss club" from the Congrats set.

4. Adhere 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 piece of Whisper White to center of the inside. This is where the written message will go. (When the card is laid flat, all three layers should match up as a 1/8 border).

5. Tie ribbon around crease and tie in a knot.

Egg-cellent Easter Workshop

I held my first workshop as a Stampin' Up demo on Friday and it went so well! There were 6 people here (even though my mom didn't participate...she decided to be the photographer! lol). We made 2 cards and 1 treat pouch using the Sale-A-Bration paper and the Egg-cellent Easter set from the Occasion's Mini.

I displayed these projects to use as a door prize. They were created using my Big Shot as well as Sale-A-Bration paper and Congrats stamp set (although, the flowers were from the Flower Fancy set). Congrats to Jen who won them! 

Everyone also got a little Thank You note made by stamping onto notebook paper. I thought they turned out really cute!

Stamps: Lots of Thoughts

Paper: Natural Ivory and Bashful Blue Cardstock, Notebook Paper

Ink: Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Bashful Blue Ribbon, Brads

1. Score 3 x 6 Natural Ivory cardstock at 3 inches to create a 3 x 3 card.

2. Take a scrap piece of Bashful Blue cardstock and tear it along the bottom. Run fingernail along other edges to create distressed look.

3. Stamp greeting on notebook paper near torn edge. Cut to size. Adhere to Bashful Blue so that there is some overhang.

4. Punch two holes using hole punch into Bashful Blue right below notebook paper. Attach brads.

5. Adhere Bashful Blue to card. Tie ribbon in a knot and adhere on corner of notebook paper.
