Stamped Candle

You may remember this post from Trinity's Lalaloopsy party last year. Well, guess who had another Lala themed party this year?! Her mom lucked out because now there are actually decorations with Lalaloopsy on them. Everything at the party was super cute. I didn't want to show up without a homemade gift, so I decided to make Trinity something that no one else could buy her...a Lalaloopsy candle with her name on it! Candle making is very easy. You can do it one of two ways: either stamp on a piece of tissue paper or run the tissue paper through your printer (taped to a regular piece of paper) -- for this project, I printed the image. Then cut the image out, getting as close to the image as you can. Position it on the candle and then wrap a piece of waxed paper around the candle and pull it tight in the back. Hold the candle by the waxed paper that is left over in the back and use an embossing gun to slowly heat over the image. It will take 1-2 minutes, but gradually you will see the image magically melt into the candle. Be careful to not overheat. Slowly peel away the waxed paper and that's it! If needed, you can heat over the image slightly to fix any places that the tissue didn't completely melt. 

Asian Artistry Candle

This is the final product that I'm going to be taking down to the Market Place on Main (I'm hoping to go tomorrow, so I will let you know how it goes!). I love stamping on candles! You may also remember this one from the auction basket I made for the Y. For this set I used the Asian Artistry stamp set and Stampin' Up markers. To stamp on candles, you first stamp your image onto tissue paper and color. Cut the image out staying close to your line, but leaving some white. Lay the image on the candle where you would like it. Wrap a piece of wax paper around the entire candle. Turn your embossing gun on and let it heat up for about 15 seconds. Then heat the wax paper over the image...you will notice that the image melts into the candle! Be careful not to overheat. For this candle, I did each image individually.

Hostess Gift

I'm getting very excited about Kim's party this weekend! I decided to make her a stamped candle and matching gift box using the stamp set that we will be using on Saturday, Flower Fancy (hopefully she doesn't see this first! lol). The candle fits perfectly inside this little box and was very easy to make! I'm not sure if I'm totally happy with the candle yet or not. I might go back and add some leaves or branches to fill in some of the empty spots.

Stamps: Flower Fancy

Paper: Always Artichoke, Apricot Appeal, Very Vanilla Cardstock and Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper

Ink: Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Certainly Celery

Accessories: Apricot Appeal Ribbon, Stampin' Pastels, Blender Pens, Embossing Gun, Wax Paper, Tissue Paper

For the stamped candle:

1. Stamp images from Flower Fancy (both parts of the 2-step stamp) onto tissue paper. Cut image out--it's okay to leave a little tissue paper around the image.

2. Position tissue paper on candle. Wrap a strip of wax paper the height of your candle around the candle sandwiching the tissue paper in between.

3. Heat up your embossing gun for 30 seconds and then heat over the image. You will notice it melt to the candle.

4. Carefully peel off the wax paper to reveal your image. Repeat until you have desired design.
