Baby Girl Sprinkle

My friend April had her second child, a daughter, just a few weeks after I had Chael. I made her invitations and favors as well. I love all of the chalkboard signs I see on Pinterest, so I decided to use her colors and make her invitation look like a chalkboard. I had fun downloading all sorts of chalkboard fonts and playing with the layout. Her favors were Pink Zebra sprinkles in sweet pea scent. On the back of the tag is the Pink Zebra consultant information. I forgot to take a picture of her thank you cards, so below is the digital file.

Baby Boy Sprinkle

I recently had my second son, a baby boy named Chael. In May I had a "sprinkle" to celebrate his upcoming arrival at my favorite little restaurant! I didn't really have a theme, just went with boy colors and kept it pretty simple. Unfortunately all of the pictures taken before guests arrived were accidentally deleted, so I don't have pictures of how cute everything looked. Each place setting had a little menu that I created to match the invitations. The centerpieces were tin cans wrapped in burlap and ribbon combined with mason jars with tea lights. The favors were blue nail polishes with a poem that said "10 little fingers, 10 little toes, Baby Rudy fill our hearts with love that overflows".

 The best picture of the table that I have...you can sort of see the menu and the favors. There were cans and mason jars staggered the entire length of the table. It was super simple, but I loved how it looked.

What better way to invite someone to a library themed baby shower than with a library book return card?! 

Bee Thank You Cards

You may remember this post for my friend's bee themed baby shower. Well these are the thank you cards. They measure 3.5 x 5 and were the perfect size for a little thank you note! I created them MDS and used the same background that I did for the invitations. I love making coordinating sets!

And I love things in multiples! Here are 90 thank yous!

What Will It BEE?

Have you heard the buzz?? I think this is such a cute baby shower theme, especially if you don't know whether you're having a boy or girl! I made these for my friend, Geri who is expecting her first baby. As always, they were made with MDS and I used the hexagon punch, rotated 90 degrees to create the honeycomb effect. The insert was also the same punch, only I scaled it to be 2x2 inches (talk about a lot of cutting -- I made over 100 of these). I rounded the corners to finish off the invitations.

Her favors were homemade honey and I created the tags for them. I used the circle punch and scaled it slightly larger than my 1 3/8 punch so that I would not have to worry about having to line each one up perfectly to avoid having white space around each one. Then simply punched a hole in the top and she tied them on with twine.

Her centerpieces were super cute too (I had no part in these!). I love the puff ball and pipe cleaner bee!! How clever!

I won one of the centerpieces, but unfortunately it got rained on before I could get a picture of it!

Mickey Mouse Baby Shower

You can't go wrong with Mickey! It's one of my son's favorite shows. I made these on MDS. The Mickey shape was actually created by piecing together a big circle and two smaller ones (using the punch tool). I struggled with the stripes. I didn't like the bottom half with the stripes at full color, but I didn't like it plain red, so after much back and forth I decided to do a red background paper with the stripes at a really high opacity. I like how they are subtle, but still give the background some interest.

I have a wedding invitation I will be able to share next weekend and just submitted three more invitation orders to be printed (two birthday parties and a baby shower), so watch for those in the upcoming weeks!! I've been pretty busy and I love it.

Meet & Greet Baby Shower

These are a cross between a birth announcement and a baby shower invitation and I love how they turned out. This is for a "Meet & Greet Baby Shower" for a baby that was born in December. Everything was created using MDS and then I simply rounded the corners (there were 100 invitations, so that's 400 corners to round!). 

Bless Their Nest Shower Invitations

I think this is one of the cutest baby shower themes I've seen! Bless their Nest :) These invitations were made to match a baby girl's nursery and I love how they turned out! As always I designed them on MDS. I tried to get the Top Note shape to cut out on my Big Shot, but no matter how I tried to line it up, it never worked, so those are all hand cut. I adhered only the top portion to the base of the invitation so that it would flip up and you could read the message underneath. The bow was adhered with a glue dot and the corners were rounded with my corner punch.

Diaper Invitation

This is another invitation that I have been waiting a very long time to share! I made these for my cousin's baby shower. Aren't they the cutest thing ever!?! I created my template based on a few diaper templates I found online and combined. Each one of these was hand cut (the diaper and the insert). I also "stitched" with marker along the outside of the insert and the tag on the front. It's one of my favorite little extras to add to cards. I used the horizontal slot punch to punch a hole on each "tab" of the diaper for the ribbon.

Halloween Baby Shower!

Okay, I'm a day late...I'm so sorry! I knew I never should have made a promise to post three days in a row! haha

Anyways, last year on October 23, I had my baby shower, which was all Halloween themed. Halloween is my favorite holiday, so it was a no brainer as to what my theme was going to be. With the  help of my amazing friend Melissa, everything turned out great! It was held at a local bed and breakfast that I had driven past every day for 4 years on my way to work and always hoped to have an event there. I absolutely loved planning it and was pretty bummed not having something Halloween themed to plan this year (especially since I've discovered Pinterest and there are so many cute things on there!).

First up are the invitations: The bear is from SU's Teddy and Train stamp set, while everything else is from a clear stamp set I bought at Michael's or Joann's, so is the paper. The bear is popped up with dimentionals and I used the criss cross card technique. These were extremely time consuming, but I absolutely LOVED then end result and they were a huge hit!

 I loved the candy corn stamped on the envelope.

This was what the room looked like. Melissa and I made the centerpieces out of supplies we picked up from Pat Catan's. They were also prizes for the games.

These are the favors I made. They were baby food jars filled with various Halloween candies. I used my Big Shot to cut Halloween fabric using the scalloped circle die. I glued that to the jar lid, tied it off with some raffia and used the scalloped circle, 1 1/2 and 1 3/8 punch for the tag. Each one also had a button attached to the bow. These buttons came from a jar of antique buttons I purchased a long time ago at Joe and I's favorite antique store. All of the buttons were either orange, gray, black or white...except one blue one. Whoever had the blue button also won a prize!

Here are some pictures of the dessert table. I made all of the cookies, Melissa made the popcorn mix and my friend Carrie made the pumpkin cupcakes!

You can also see the picks in the fruit. I used the Batty for You stamp set as well as the same patterned paper from the invitations to create those.

There was one aspect of the shower Melissa didn't allow me to know about/make on my own...the drinks. Her and her mom took the time to cut out pumpkin faces out of duct tape and attach them to orange cups. They were so cute and I thought it was such a great idea!

Speaking of Melissa, here is a picture of her and I. (I'm obviously the one on the left! hehe) Now, one year later, she has a little one of her own who is almost 4 months old! She's actually pregnant in this picture, but didn't know it yet. How neat is that?!

Simple Baby Card

I made this card last year for my friend April, who's son just turned a year old! She had posted pictures of his nursery on Facebook, so I made the card to match the color scheme. The alphabet is Stampin' Up's "Big Deal Alphabet" and the letters fit pretty perfectly inside the 1 3/8 inch circle punch. I used the 1 1/2 inch circle punch for the colored cardstock behind each letter. The "a" and the "y" are raised with dimensionals.  I also scored a border around the inside using a bone folder and my paper trimmer and then hand drew then "stitching" around it. The buttons were just miscellaneous ones I had laying around and were adhered with glue dots. I finished it off with the twine wrapped twice around the front of the card.

The inside had a 3 3/4 x 5 1/4 blue border (I'm sorry I can't remember exactly which color I used, but all of the colors used are Stampin' Up) to frame the writing space which was 3 1/2 x 5. I also punched the bottom to make a slot for the gift card to go.

Baby Shower Gift, Favors, and Cake!

As mentioned yesterday, here are some pictures from my cousin's baby shower. First up is the gift that I made her. I found the tutorial for the little "onsie flowers" on Lauren Meader's Blog. It was super easy to make and was a real wow at the shower! There are 5 pink, brown, and white onsies intermixed with artificial pink/white roses and greenery. When it was brought over to my cousin she said "Hmmm...let me guess who this is from!"

The little card/envelope was made from the Big Shot Petal Card die with a little 2x2 card inside (stamped with the bear from Teddy and Train to coordinate with the invitations). It was attached to a bamboo skewer with mini glue dots.

Next are the favors. Since her theme was bears and baby blocks, we stamped them with the bear from the Teddy and Train set and letters from the Big Deal Alphabet. We had originally planned on making our own boxes, but due to time constraint, my aunt picked up these already pre-scored and cut boxes. We did 50 Pretty in Pink bears and 50 Chocolate Chip bears. Half of them were stamped ABC and half were XYZ. Inside was a tool circle with some candy covered chocolates all tied off with an "It's a girl ribbon"...forgot to take a picture of that before I ate my candy! Oops!

Finally, thanks to my super talented aunt, is the cake! Isn't this thing incredible?! She made all of it, down to the bears in the middle and the little chocolate molded candy in the plastic blocks around it. I might have to take lessons from her on cake making!
